Qatar World Cup: 24.5 lakh tickets sold so far

24.5 lakh tickets have been sold for the upcoming Qatar World Cup 2022. The most sold tickets are for Brazil match. Tickets for Brazil's group matches are in high demand as the second round of sales closes. Out of 48 group matches, five games have the most tickets. Two of them are Brazil's games.

It is assumed that fans will flock to the matches against Serbia on November 24 at 12.30pm and Cameroon on December 2 at 12.30pm.

Tickets for Portugal-Uruguay (November 28 at 12.30 p.m.), Germany-Costa Rica (December 1 at 12.30 p.m.) and Denmark-Australia (November 30 at 8.30 p.m.) have also been sold in large numbers. So far, FIFA estimates that 24.5 lakh people have bought tickets for the World Cup.

Five lakh more tickets will be available to the spectators. 3 million tickets have been reserved for football fans around the world. The third phase of sales will begin by the end of next month. It is likely to continue till the World Cup. The sale will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

18 lakh people bought tickets in the first phase. 5,20,532 tickets were sold in the second phase which lasted from July 5 to August 16. Fans from nine countries crowded for tickets. That includes hosts Qatar and fan favorites Argentina and Brazil. More fans bought tickets from America, England, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, UAE and France.
