As per the Director of Projects and Development Department at the Ministry of Municipality, Eng Suleiman Al Abdullah, 18 beaches had been marked for renovation to provide necessary services for visitors. In phase one, eight of them will be reopened on 1 November ahead of the sporting event. Under the renovation project, the beaches are provided with walkways, shades of different designs, permanent toilets, kiosks, barbeque areas, play areas for children, volleyball, and football grounds.

Moreover, dedicated walkways for people with special needs are also built in some beaches to give them access to the sea. The lighting system of all beaches will be powered by solar energy. Also, lifeguard service at beaches will be initiated with Sealine and Al Ghariya beaches from 1 November. Umm Al Seneem Park, with the largest air-conditioned walkways in the world, will be open by the beginning of November.
