The seventh edition of the Souq Waqif International Honey Exhibition opened on Thursday at the Eastern Square, bringing together honey producers and related businesses from around the world. The event features products from 100 companies representing 20 countries.
Alongside a wide selection of honey, the exhibition showcases more than 50 bee-related products, including propolis, beeswax, pollen and royal jelly. Organised by the Private Engineering Office, the exhibition will run until January 31 and is open daily from 9am to noon and from 4pm to 9pm.
Participants include local Qatari honey farms, exhibitors from across the GCC and international sellers from countries such as Oman, the UAE, Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, Bosnia, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Libya, Yemen, Saudi Arabia and Iran. Visitors can explore a diverse range of pure and flavoured honeys, including walnut, ginger, zaatar and herbal blends.
Popular varieties on display include sidr, manuka and jabaly honey, along with acacia, wildflower, clover and eucalyptus. The opening day attracted large crowds of citizens, residents and tourists keen to sample the offerings and purchase both local and imported honey.
