For general dentists, the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has started the nationwide electronic qualification exam. The Ministry's continuous efforts to improve the grade of healthcare services offered to patients and to create a system of professional registration and licensing that complies with the highest international standards include this endeavor.
The test seeks to improve dental professionals' proficiency and guarantee the provision of exceptional medical treatment. It aims to boost patient assurance and faith in the medical system in Qatar.
One of the essential requirements for getting a license to practice general dentistry in Qatar is passing the qualifying exam. It verifies general dentists' eligibility and proficiency prior to their employment. There are 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) on the 3.5-hour test, and a passing score of 60% is required.
The test is administered electronically through the "Prometric" platform, according to the Department of Healthcare Professions of MoPH. If a candidate fails on their first try, the platform gives them up to five chances without time constraints, giving them more time to study and evaluate themselves.
The exam content and references have been updated to reflect scientific advancements and modern practices in dentistry. New policies ensure precise evaluation of academic qualifications and practical experience and define the scope of practice according to stringent standards.
