Based on an extensive monitoring of scientific output throughout the region, the 10th annual edition of the Arab Scientific Journals Impact and Citation edition (ARCIF), published in 2025, validated the State of Qatar's progress in engineering and technology among the Arab world.
About 5,500 scientific journals published by 1,500 scientific organizations across 20 Arab countries (not including Djibouti and the Comoros) and eight other countries that produce Arabic-language journals were analyzed by the ARCIF teams. Al Khazendar said that 1,272 of these publications fulfilled 32 globally accepted standards that were authorized by ARCIF.
The research claims to have examined data from 364,000 Arab authors, including over 956,000 scholarly publications, with 111,000 authors' works cited. The number of journals, publications, and cited Arab writers increased by 367 percent, 870 percent, and 6,800 percent, respectively, compared to the 2016 report.
Researchers and policymakers will have access to the most recent information on the Arab scientific publishing scene before the end of 2025 when the digital version of the 2025 report becomes available on the ARCIF website (http://emarefa.net/arcif).
