Residents and tourists are invited to participate in a statewide beach and island cleanup effort that will run through September 2025, according to a significant public initiative sponsored by the Ministry of Municipality's General Cleanliness Department.
The ministry's larger community involvement initiatives include this endeavor, which also demonstrates Qatar's dedication to fulfilling the sustainability objectives set forth in the Qatar National Vision 2030.
The nation's commitment to community involvement, environmental protection, and sustainable living is emphasized in the campaign. By actively involving individuals in the upkeep and preservation of Qatar's coastal regions, the Ministry hopes to increase ecological consciousness and preserve the nation's natural splendor for coming generations.
The campaign will span Qatar’s beaches and islands with multiple sessions from September 6 to 27. It kicks off at Doha Umm Al-Maa, before moving to Abu Samra and Zekreet on September 14, followed by Al Wakra and Al Thakhira on September 15. Al Khor Island and Semaisma will host on September 16, while Sealine, Al Kharij, and Furaiha welcome participants on September 17. On September 18, sessions are planned at The Corniche and Al Wakra Family Beach. Activities continue at Ummairij and Umm Jabalieh on September 19, Bu Funtass and Umm Al-Maa on September 20, before concluding at Al Mafjar Beach on September 27.
All community members, including residents and visitors, are invited to take part in supporting Qatar’s sustainable future. Registration details can be easily accessed via a dedicated QR code shared by the Ministry of Municipality.
