The largest 3D construction printer in the world will be set up at a Doha public school construction site. The BODXL printer, which is 50 m x 30 m x 15 m in size and resembles a Boeing 737 hangar, is the first of two enormous printers created by Denmark's COBOD International and run by UCC Holding. This innovative device, which was unveiled at a recent VIP event, is more than four times larger than any other 3D construction printer and is poised to revolutionize building design and implementation.
This next-generation printer, which will be utilized to build two public schools in Doha, was successfully installed by UCC Holding and COBOD less than ten months after they signed the historic deal on September 18, 2024. With 20,000 square meters for each campus, a total of 40,000 square meters, this will be the largest 3D printed construction project ever completed.
The capabilities of the BODXL are astounding. It enables quick, accurate, and environmentally friendly building processes by printing structures up to five stories high with a 1,500 square meter footprint. Later this month, a second identical printer will be installed at the same location, tripling the project's scope and speed.
