Chairperson of Qatar Museums addressed the Academic Committee to enable better communication and collaboration between museums, and various institutions

H E Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al Thani, the chairwoman of Qatar Museums (QM), spoke most recently to the Academic Committee (AC), which is made up of head teachers from public, private, and foreign schools as well as ministry officials and subject matter experts from the higher education and education sectors.

The Ministry of Education, museums, and other organisations that provide informal learning opportunities, as well as government, private, and community schools in Qatar, have created the AC platform to facilitate improved communication and collaboration between these groups. The meeting was attended by Maha Al Rowaili, Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, who has actively supported the work of the Committee from its establishment in 2021.

This prestigious group, which meets four times a year to exchange information and skills in the field of education, is comprised of over 70 school principals from Qatar's most proactive and culture-minded schools. Other interested school principals are welcome to apply to join the membership and enhance their schools' curricula by working with AC's projects.

Members of AC work together on the Curriculum Alignment Project (CAP), a significant educational endeavour that attempts to match museum collections with school curricula. AC also functions as a platform for communication. Numerous learning activities will be offered to schools during this academic year, according to announcements made by several museums, QM divisions, and other organisations including the Doha Film Institute.
