ITU and UNECE co-organized the "Future Networked Car Symposium 2023" under the platinum sponsorship of Qatar's CRA

Under the platinum sponsorship of Qatar's Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA), the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) co-organized the "Future Networked Car Symposium 2023". The symposium, which was held at the Doha Exhibition & Convention Centre (DECC), aimed to promote knowledge sharing and collaboration between the automotive and telecommunication industries in the GCC and beyond, as well as to showcase innovative technologies and solutions for automated vehicles, connectivity, and cybersecurity, as well as to highlight the challenges and opportunities for networked cars in the GCC.The event also sought to showcase best practises and standards needed to ensure the safety of future networked automobiles in the GCC, as well as to address the legislative and policy frameworks needed to promote networked car deployment.

The programme discussed a variety of themes concerning the future of networked automobiles. 5G and vehicle-to-everything (V2X) connectivity, autonomous driving, cybersecurity, and software produced using Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology were the four key topics covered.
