The sixth edition of the Katara International Hunting and Falcons Exhibition, popularly known as S'hail, has begun. The forthcoming event will take place from September 5 to 9 at Katara Cultural Village's Al Hikma Square.
Katara General Manager Prof. Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti emphasised the exhibition's importance in maintaining the rich history and legacy of hunters and falconers. S'hail has blossomed into one of Katara's most amazing initiatives, promoting Qatari culture and history via falconry and hunting, he continued. Last year's expo was a resounding success, drawing 180 prominent firms specialised in hunting guns, supplies, falcons, and related products and services. Furthermore, 20 nations participated, including Qatar, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Lebanon, Luxembourg, Pakistan, Russia, South Africa, Spain, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates, among others.
S'hail, which was founded in 2017, has developed to become a worldwide recognised platform in Qatar. S'hail is committed to preserving and promoting hunting and falconry. The event's goal is to raise awareness of the country's rich cultural heritage by organising world-class exhibitions, awe-inspiring events, educational activities, and environmental initiatives on both a national and worldwide scale. S'hail, also known as Canopus, is a powerful symbol in Arabic culture, frequently connected with fresh beginnings. It acts as a beacon for birds and hunters, signalling the start of the hunting season. The event itself is divided into four separate stages, each with its own symbolic importance.
Renowned Arabic poets have regularly exalted S'hail's significance in their timeless works, establishing its place in the region's cultural history. The hunting season officially begins with the emergence of S'hail in the night sky, in accordance with nature's cycle. The Katara International Hunting and Falcons Exhibition, S'hail, represents the commencement of hunting and falconry commerce.
