The Lusail Boulevard main road will be open to vehicular traffic from Saturday night, January 7, at 10pm as addressed in an announcement by Qatari Diar on its official Instagram handle.
"Cars will be allowed to access Lusail Boulevard, which will no longer be pedestrian-only, from 10pm on Saturday 7 January 2023," stated the announcement.
Lusail Boulevard, a popular destination during the FIFA World Cup, remained open only for pedestrians for more than two weeks after the tournament concluded on December 18, 2022, coinciding with Qatar National Day.
The 1.3-kilometer avenue, bustling with World Cup festivities, welcomed thousands of fans during the tournament.
The iconic Lusail Boulevard was also the venue of La Albiceleste's victory parade after lifting the trophy as champions for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, ending Argentina's 36-year World Cup title drought, by beating France 4-2 on penalties after a 3-3 draw in Lusail Stadium.
