The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs inaugurated Sheikh Hamad bin Sultan bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Thani Mosque

Sheikh Hamad bin Sultan bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Thani Mosque was opened by the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs (Awqaf) in the Umm Al-Amad region. The mosque, which spans 2,267 square meters, has enough for around 1150 worshippers.

Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamad bin Sultan Al-Thani, Engineer Khaled Al Abdul Jabbar, and H.E. Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs (Awqaf) for Da'wah and Mosque Affairs Mohammed bin Hamad Al Kuwari all attended the inauguration.

The mosque was destroyed and rebuilt, according to the Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry, as part of the Ministry's strategy to develop and expand a number of mosques throughout the nation in order to keep up with population growth and urbanisation in accordance with Qatar National Vision 2030.

The new mosque has a main prayer hall that can hold 650 worshipers, a mezzanine floor prayer hall that can hold 450 worshipers, a women's hall that can hold 60 worshipers, as well as parking lots for 17 cars, several of which are designated to serve people with special needs.
